Kathy Smart founded Joy Everafter Stories in Adelaide in 2018 where she writes and produces video games.  The studio's first major game, Frog's Princess, was published in December 2020.

Kathy makes games which are as accessible to as many players as possible.  Frog's Princess is accessible to blind or deaf players and heroes have diverse appearances.

Kathy has an Advanced Diploma in Professional Game Design and Production and a Masters degree in Creative Writing.  Her children are in their thirties but she has yet to gain a Masters in Parenting.
